All of you guys that have upper arm fistulas    how do you do it......   when I get hooked up to D   I cant bend my arm at all without fear of infiltration.....  I see others who have the lower arm and they can move their hands and arms , use them to hold books, or whatever....  I was told that it would of been  nice if the fistula was or will mature farther up the arm to get away from the bend in my arm.....  but the lines are looped so that I can not bend my arm..... hours not moving your arm is Hell......     SO    how do I get my fistula to get bigger farther up my arm..... do I need surgery   do I need replumbing.......

mine is in the crook of my arm. It bothers when I am on the computer and read a book. It is less than a year old so it is still growing.

Going through life tied to a chair!

Mine is in my upper left arm and I'm scared to death to move it so I don't.  I have a pillow that I put my arm on and I just lay there and watch a movie or sleep.  I don't move.  Needles in my arm!  I'm not moving an inch!

I echo what Rerun said.  With my upper arm fistula I bought a medium sized buckwheat filled pillow that I nestled my arm into a groove I made in it.  That way I could be sure it didn't move.  Less tension in the muscles that way and easier to relax.

My fistula spans the crook of my arm.  Forearm is arterial and upper arm is venus.  I have had many problems with my fistula with 7 surgeries since Febnrary.

I keep my arm as still as possible. But that never works out well. I end up having to keep my arm like propped up, cause otherwise it gets so sore! I had a pillow that I had my arm on, but that made it more sore for some reason. So I just rest it on the chair arm thing. I don't really know what else to do to make it not sore...
