Well  I am still have trouble with my fistula....  after my first infiltration last Thursday I took time off to let it rest and start Dialysis on Monday ( yesterday ).. I was stuck and everything was ok until about 1.5 hours and the alarms with off and then I felt a burning pain.  I was very carefull not to move my arm at all....  and the tech came over and then went to get another tech and they turned off the machine....said the my venus pressure was 440...... get a ice pack and send her home.....    So off I went....Today my kidney team people called and told me to take a rest for the next two weeks and will try it again....   I sure am glad that I am not big time sick......  I have been feeling pretty good the last week.... So I guess I will wait and see... I am somewhat dissappointed that this fistula is not working.... but maybe it is too new and underdeveloped.....  I know it pretty short.. and I am hoping that it develops more up my arm so that when I am on dialysis I will be able to bend my arm....  I cannot bend my arm as the needles are right next to my forearm....  anyway... So  that the up date.....   Time will tell......

Oh, Kathy.

I'm so sorry. Keep exercising your fistula. Carl's has extended up his arm over the past year. But part of that has been through use.

I hope this time "off" proves a help to you.

Best wishes,
Aleta

Yes  I am hoping that it does grow up.... The doctor gave me two choices today ....   rest for two weeks  or do a catheder......         I rest........  and I will exercise it daily   maybe twice daily......    If it doesnt work when I go back   I might just do the catheder and really let it rest for a couple of months.....
( I will say  that sitting in the chair for two hours was very hard....   I still have to do four one of these days....  my back end gets numb.....LOL      I will have to train that one too.....LOL   )
