Is anyone here on or been on The Renal Network Patient Leadership Committee? My social worker nominated me to be on it, but she didn't have a hole lot of information to give me about it. I'd kind of like to know whhat I've gotten myself into!

You can go to their website at rsnhope.org and read about their different programs.
I volunteer at their offices often, and this year will be on the committee that puts on the Renal Teen Prom (In Jan. 2010)

I don't think it's the same thing. The application I had said "The Renal Network, Inc." over top of a cluster of 4 states and was in blue. My SW did say it was in clusters of states, if that makes any sense. The one I applied for covers Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

Sorry, I messed up.
The Renal Network, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization which monitors quality of dialysis care in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio (Network 9), and in Illinois (Network 10). The Renal Network is the contractor with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for End-stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Networks 9/10.
History
On July 1,1988, Tri-State Renal Network began the contract for ESRD Network 9 under the national reorganization of the network systems. At that time, the former networks 22 (northern Ohio), 16 (Indiana), and 17 (Kentucky and southern Ohio) were combined into one. On August 1, 1996, Tri-State was awarded the contract for Network 10, and the name was changed to The Renal Network, Inc.
OVERVIEW
The Patient Leadership Committee (PLC) is a dynamic group of patients and professionals that help the Network respond to patient needs and seek ways to improve patient/staff relationships. The PLC represents a cross section of patient treatment modalities from across the Network. This committee provides an approach to patient-related issues and concerns that involve continuously seeking better ways to do things --- ways that lead to more informed patients and better treatment results. This committee acts as an advisory group to the Network's Patient Services Department.
GOALS

MEMBERSHIP on the PLC requires:
• A staggered three year term of office with the option of serving additional terms

• Ability to travel meetings are held in different locations within the states of Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , and Ohio (travel expenses are reimbursed)
• Experience with renal issues
• Willingness to work on educational projects and activities
