Life is great!

« on: January 14, 2007, 01:17:17 AM »

HI Everyone,

Well it is just so gorgeous over here.  Bungalows over the water and lots of sun and then a dip in the plunge pool.

I was starting to get a bit sad about the fact that this won't be possible once I have started on dialysis but there is a guy over here at the moment who is is doing due diligence to start a resort like this one for people with health problems and having a mini-hospital and a doctor on site the whole time.

He is looking at having some dialysis machines on his island and he is hoping to offer much of what is on this island - Huvafen Fushi - and better still he is going to make it financially attractive.  I gave him my email and he is going to send information about his island as soon as it is available.  The weather here is superb and the people are gorgeous.  I know that it is a little dangerous after what happened to Steve Irwin - Crocodile Hunter - but I have been swimming with the Stingrays and Mantarays today and they are just fabulous.  Can't even imagine for a second that they are dangerous.

The whole floor in our bungalow is glass so you have fish swimming under you the whole time and the gym and spa are eight metres under water so you can have a massage with the fish swimming around you.

We are going to download some pics tonight so I will send some to you as long as the net stops dropping out.

Well, better send this off before we drop out again.  I will keep in touch.

Love to you all.............. :cuddle;

Sounds wonderful! Looking forward to seeing some pics.. though it might make me/us a bit envious I suspect :)

Hope the Honeymoon part is going well too ;) I don't think we need pics of THAT though !! :D

I think it is great for this guy to try and come up with a resort place for people with health problems. Sounds like a great idea and hope he can pull it off. Reminds me of the resort in Kuala Lumpur that supposedly has a dialysis centre inbuilt so you can get treatments while the family play in the resort...

good to hear it is so lovely!

Lucinda,
   How fabulous!  I'm so envious!!!
I would give anything to travel to an island again.  And the glass floor sounds amazing!
Years ago my husband and I would go snorkling.  I loved it more than anything in this world.
Have a wonderful time and terrific memories!

Aaah...I've been fancying a surf trip to the Maldives since before I got sick. This would be great if it comes about.
I shall keep my fingers x'd. We all need places like this we can go to...there are so few. I don't fancy a haemo-cruise
& not many 'dream' destinations have dx available.
