By the time I get to the final blood work, I always feel that the committee meeting is just a formality. I always ask for all results from labs and other tests along the way. Your sister could always speak to her coordinator and ask if there were any medical or psychosocial concerns.
Personally, I truly resent it when a hospital tries to make this into a giant production, as if you are waiting on an acceptance letter to grad school or something. Some hospitals love the drama of it. I think I usually found out within days of the meeting, but I never knew ahead of time when the committee was meeting because I did not care - I already knew the answer.
