Wow, it's great to be back. Much has happened since I last posted. I tried PD unsuccessfully. I had two cath placements , an omentum wrap which obstructed my cath, a partial omentumectomy, a cath revision caused from another obstruction and a  serious bout with peritonitis. Ultimately both catheters were removed.I have a consultation with another surgeon on the 29th. Hopefully, I will try again soon. I'm also on my second graft first one failed during one of my hospitalizations. I'm happy to back among my IHD friends.  :waving;

Welcome back you sure have been through  the mill. All that catheter surgery and then getting the dreaded peritonitus. Getting back to a decent quality of life is well overdue and I do hope you arrive at it as soon as possible. :grouphug;

Thanks for your question paddbear. An omentumectomy is the removal of the tissue lining the abdominal wall. A portion of my omentum was wrapped around my pd cath. One side was removed and the other tied back.

You are very brave in still persuing  PD after all you've been through. One bout of peritonitis did it for me. I went straight on to haemo after that.
Good Luck
