Just to duplicate my post from another kidney site....

Hi all,

I expect you will all know already but just a reminder to all of you to make sure you book your flu shot as early as possible. As usual there is a worldwide shortage! I'm already booked in but my surgery said that there may not be enough to go around so it will be only for the most urgent patients.

We are all entitled to it from pre-dialysis to transplant (this applies to UK renal patients, not sure how you stand in other countries but it is vitally important you get the shot).

I believe that carers MAY be eligible, best to check with your local gp practive and ask their advice

Sara, yes you need to get a flu shot as a care giver.  If Joe gets a transplant you need to be clean too.

Well, "Moooonths" ago isn't for "this" flu season.   :banghead;  The time to get the "current" flu seasons shots are September - December.
