I'm actually surprised french fries (salted one assumes) is relatively so low in sodium. i would have expected it to be much more.....

And yes all you need do is look at some labels and can quickly be freaked out by how much sodium is in stuff. Very hard to escape - unless you want to live on apples and water (oranges not so good -high potassium!)

how much salt is in sweat
It can vary from person to person and in fact the amount of salt in sweat is used to diagnose cystic fibrosis.  Athletes replace sodium and other electrolytes in the blood that are lost through sweating by drinking gatorade for example which is high in these elements.  If a person lives in extreme heat and sweats a lot they can become hydrated and replacing the fluid alone is not enough, they need to replenish salt and potassium too.  Most of us don't need to worry because the North American diet in general consumes a third to double more salt than is needed by the body.  Mostly due to processed foods.

It makes you think huh?  A doctor I had when I lived in Ga a while had a bunch of tubes out in the waiting room. And they were filled with salt each one was labed what ever the item was and showed how much sodium it would be compaired to.  It was crazy.
