Weight gain, yet looking bonier???

I need to know if anyone else experienced this pre-dialysis. Over the last 2 months I've lost 11 pounds. But now, I've noticed that over the last couple of days I've gotten bonier looking, yet I've gained a few pounds. There is no where on me where it looks like I'm gaining weight. What could this be? Fluid accumulating somewhere?

You could be carrying hidden fluid.  Pre-dialysis I lost weight but not as much as I thought I would given how little I was eating.  On me, fluid hides in my thighs and butt so I tend to look thinner than my weight.  My neck, face and shoulders got scrawnier looking.  I also usually looked like I needed a good sleep.

It sounds like fluid. If you notice you legs feeling extremely heavy or shortness of breath go to a doctor.

Sounds like fluid. The dialysis nurse told hubby before he started dialysis that fluid could even be in your blood vessels and you could have a lot of fluid in your body before you notice any swelling.  When PD stopped working for him and he was retaining fluid (we didn't know he was at the time) he was short of breath and when he would lie down and breath he sounded like someone had just opened a can of pop!!  They did x rays at the hospital and told him there was no fluid on his lungs!!!  Ended up he had 25 lbs of fluid in his body.  He was the same as monrein eating a lot less but not losing the eight he should have loss.
