Excellent, more will power than I have. Watch UCLA on your quarterly labs. They didn't receive
my labs for two quarters.

Congratulations, Peleroja. What an inspiration you are. We have a treatmill and I hate to use it ... so boring. But I've always thought I needed to be on it for at least 20 to 30 minutes to get any benefit. But you've given me the incentive to try once more. I believe I can do the 5 or 10 minutes you talked about and hopefully increase the time as I get stronger. I've had a tendency to use the calories from the dextrose solution I use for PD as an explanation for my gradual weight gain of 20 lbs over the past 5 years. Now I know that it's not a valid excuse and I'm going to do my best to use you as my example. As I'm hoping for a transplant in the future too, losing weight can only be to my benefit.
Great job and keep up the good work!!! And I hope to hear that you too will have a transplant date scheduled very soon.

Well done you - I hope this is also inspiration for any others trying to lose weight, as we all know it's simple to say, hard to achieve. Well done!

Thank you all for your well wishes. To those who asked questions, here are your answers:
paul.karen - Yup, I'm definitely gonna keep going. As for exercise, I just rode my stationary bike 10 minutes at a time, several times a day.
kellyt - My only real tip for exercise is whatever you do, do it in front of the television. I can't tell you how many times I got lost in a program and discovered I'd done more minutes than I intended.
pelagia - I guess mostly it was the biking. I can't do long walks any more due to arthritis in my lower back. I also went down to 2 meals a day most days, breakfast and something else (lunner? dinch?) around 3-4 pm.
RedfromCanada - I have an appointment Jan. 22 with my neph and I think she will refer me back to the surgeon again for the PD catheter. We shall see.
To all - I'm not on the transplant list yet as I had to cancel my appt with UCLA on Dec. 1. They tell me they will put me on the orientation/interview list late March or early April. I'll keep you posted.
