Hi, Nana.  I was on PD for 5 years and intend to go back just as soon as they can put in another catheter.  The exit site for the PD catheter is usually placed in the tummy area, but I had something called a pre-sternal catheter (about an inch to the right of my left breast).  For the first two years I couldn't even look at it, nor did I go in the hot tub.  Then one day I just said phooey and jumped nekkid into the hot tub and not one person cared what it looked like.  In fact, I'm thinking about asking for another pres-ternal catheter when I redo the surgery.  I much prefer PD to hemo because there are fewer restrictions on food and fluid, and it can be done just about anywhere.  If you have other questions, feel free to ask away or write me privately.
