My husband has a friend who is an incredible woman - she offered me a kidney and went through the testing then cried when she was turned down - after only meeting me twice. She is the embodiment of "puts others before herself".

Unfortunately, she has now found herself in the sad situation of needing the advice and possibly guidance from a civil/family lawyer, and has little to no money of her own - her husband is incredibly controlling. In addition to him being controlling, she has good reasons to believe he also has had a girlfriend for at least three months. We thought if we could find a lawyer who is somehow involved or touched by the kidney community, then our friend may be able to get the advice she needs without spending much (or any) money.

Hopefully someone on here knows someone who could or would help. I'm going to clinic tomorrow and will also ask the social worker, but I thought my friends on here might be able to help as well. We're in Georgia, so the lawyer should at least be familiar with the laws here.

Thanks, guys!

On a side note, this lady is an amazingly sweet, kind, caring woman, and does not deserve to be treated the way her husband has been treating her. Please help us help her. Thanks.

Controllers are abusers period, suggest she contact a local abuse hot-line, they should be able to point her in the right direction for legal relief, and make him pay for the lawyer I would hope, best wishes to her.......

Haven't talked to her in a couple of days, but we will mention that when we do talk to her. Thanks, Silver.
