It has been a while since i've been on the site. I started dialysis in October 7 and it has been better than i expected. The only thing that bothers me is that my nephrologist didn't eve bother to tell me about the av graft, which i have in my left forearm. he made it seem like that since i couldn't get the fistula i would have to do peritoneal. but anyways, i've been on dialysis for 3 months and it has benn good. i have done my transplant evaluation and was activated yesterday on the llist.  the only set back is that my cousin, who wants to donate, has to lose 24 pounds in order to be a candidate. she is 19 and i know 24 pounds is a lot and i dont want her to stress herself even though i do appreciate the thought. im gonna support her and be behind her throughout the process.   meanwhile, i have focus my attention to going on with my life.

Tell her to go to Weight Watcher meetings.  I truly believe that is the best way to safely lose weight!

Congratulations!  I'm glad you're doing well on dialysis, but don't get comfy!  We want you to get a transplant SOON!!!!!!

Welcome back!  Your cousin is an angel for the offer. Maybe this would help give her reason to get healthy.
