Okay, the doc says I should have four days a week. After the shock and fear wore off, I figured, "what the heck". If it is to be, then so be it.
I am currently M-W-F in the evening. Should I do Saturday? Or Thursday? The benefit of doing Saturday is that I would avoid the Monday "bloat" from having an extra day of no treatment. The advantage of Thursday would be that I would still have something left of a "weekend". Suggestions? Comments?

I think I would do Sat. because of the spread. As it is now, Friday evening to Monday evening is almost like three days. I know what you mean about wanting a weekend but if you end up feeling lousy you can't really take full advantage of it anyway.

devon, do Saturday. You'll have Sunday and Monday, until your evening treatment. When Len was on hemo, we did every other day and he felt much better, and he's labs were great. devon, just watch them closely and make sure they dry you out too much. You probably won't have as much gain as you did on 3 times a week. Hope it helps you to feel better. Please keep us updated. :cuddle;

Saturday.

I would go for Saturday Devon just because of the long time between Fri and Mon. You will still have Sun and Mon until in the evening.

Hey devon.sorry to hear the news. I would do saturday. I hope you do well. My thoughts are with you.Let us know how it goes. Luck

As you know, I like Saturday dialysis....no administration, college football and a more laid back atmosphere. Hopefully you can get your numbers in line and cut back to 3 days a week.
-
Devon, have you looked into nocturnal dialysis? That's what my doctor has recommended for me. If it's available and convenient you may want to try that. That way you can get 24 hrs on the machine. There are a couple of people on nocturnal. Read their threads if you haven't already. Good Luck!

Devon. Ask if they have a Nocturnal program. With 8 hours 3 nights a week your days and weekends are free and you feel so much better. 24 hours a week will beat16. Just a thought and worth investigating.
By the way, pick Saturday.

Saturday, nocturnal or home...you will feel better if you don't have that long time between runs.

That extra run probably will get you feeling better. I would chose Saturday too. It keeps you from going over a long week-end. This should help with the blues.

Saturday would be my choice too. Good luck :thumbup;

That extra day without hemodialysis is a killer, so go with Saturday.
You're body will thank you.

Thanks Y'all for the suggestions!
As soon as the crowd from down south return to Houston and Galveston, I can start my additional Saturday. When I talked to them last night about it, they brought up the fact that there's no space available this week. As soon as the crowd from down south return to Houston and Galveston, I can start my additional Saturday.
Oh well, I can suffer though for another week of getting poked only three times instead of four! ;)

I do six days a week treatment and I must say the once in a great while that I do skip Saturday is rough. After a while I think you might start to feel better with the extra treatment. With less opportunity for the waste products to back up, you'll have less health issues in the long run.
