I just wanna sit with some chocolate and adult beverage and cry...
We use the drain line extensions instead of going thru the Pure Flow unit black hose.. we detest the black hose as it smells and it's hard to reel up out of the way after use. It's also big enough in diameter that the bathroom door cannot close, my family LIKES privacy in the bathroom.
On to the rant:
Our cat has been very fascinated with hubby's drain line..we thought it was cute. Chasing the bubbles, running back and forth to watch the fluid, pouncing..
Tonight.. not so cute! >:(
Hubby yells for me from the bedroom where he is dialyzing, on my way to run back and see what he needs (minor solvable problem, had to reset the pressure pod) I notice the floor is wet.
The floor is wet in several places, there is fluid running out of the drain line.. into the hallway.. on the carpet.. and the cat looks at me... and had the common sense to run and hide!
She had pulled the drain line out of the tub, happily playing with it in the hall.
:banghead; My boys and I had to use several towels, blue pads, paper towels and the fan to dry up the mess.
They give the cat a bath in the sink and lock her away in a bedroom.
And when I think -- okay , I can handle this.
I hear something..
I notice something...
Not only had the delightful furry creature pulled the line out.. she BIT it!!
It was spraying and making yet another puddly mess in the hallway.
Drag out another drain line, quick stop and connect. Dry up the puddles.. and now I really really really need some chocolate and perhaps an icy not melty adult beverage.
wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Oh yes, I am also worried the cat may have ingested used diasylate. So far she is fine.. mad as heck since she is wet from her bath... but fine.
Sigh.. just another day at the the not so funny Garcia house..

Thanks, and it's still not over yet.. :rofl;

That's worse then cats climbing up the sheer curtains. I hope the beverage was exceptionally delicious. :cuddle;

The dialysate is not much different from Gatorade, shouldn't harm the cat any......
-
cool, she will be well hydrated for her next adventure
:rofl;

Wow, thats a tough one. Hope that never happens again!

My goodness! Why do cats like lines that much!!! I am forever having to chase McQueen from the cords from my laptop and printer. And some months ago, he bit the speaker cord. Naughty cats!!!
-
That's why I ran my drain lines thru the wall and directly under the sink cupboard - cat proofing!
:rofl;

Mine are selective. It's either the charger for my laptop or the blood pressure cuff. After a couple of replacements, I started rubbing them with Tabasco sauce.

I would have been so mad! I'll bet kitty was having a grand ole time, though! Hang in there! :cuddle;

I know it wasn't funny when it was happening, but the visual is hysterical. The wet cat, everyone running around, puddles of water -- oh my goodness. You really deserved an endless frozen margarita!

I've never had anything quite like that, but I can relate to the "cat vs NxStage" thing. I don't have any cats, but a friend that I visit frequently has five of them. When I'm there, I set up my machine in the living room, and run my drain line into the kitchen, so the cats are always batting around at the line, and stretching up to bat at the unused dialysate lines hanging down from the bags (I'll have to stop them from doing this now). What they really like to do is attack the hose for my blood pressure cuff. I usually just leave the cuff on my arm and disconnect it from the monitor when I'm not using it, and the cats will literally pounce on it. One of the kittens even tried to climb it! I hope that you don't have anymore problems with your cat.
