Title: Question For Ladies Only!
Post by: kellyt on July 31, 2008, 08:34:30 PM
You'll be sorry, men!!!!!!!!!!!   :rofl;

Question:
  Do menstrual cycles become irregular when it's time to start dialysis, or even after starting dialysis?   I'm a super regular girl and my last two were not normal (time wise).  I'm usually 23-25 days in-between like clockwork and my last two were 14 days and 17 (between cycles).  Totally not normal for me.  I'd love for them to stop all together, but I guess that's asking too much.

You can ignor post all together (Ladies and Gentlemen).  I just did a search and found this exact same question, along with answers.

Unless someone has something they'd like to add...

Thanks anyway.

I had mine stopped altogether several years ago, first by taking progesterone, then when it looked like progesterone caused osteoporisis my gyn had me discontinue it and inserted a Merena IUD instead. I've been much healther overall since I stopped having periods.

They use to stop all together due to anemia and you body trying to save its blood supply.  Now that we have Epogen your blood supply stays up and you continue to have periods.  When I turned 44 mine got irregular to the point that I was having one every two weeks so they put me on a birth control bill to stop them all together.  It is great.

I dont know if anyone will see this but...
I was told when I got sick that with renal failure, the menstrual cycle gets all screwy, has something to do with hormones and all that. I take a birth control pill to help keep it regular, but I find that its still off by a day or two... or four. Which... SUCKS.
