I was admitted to the hospital June 15th and made it out over a week later, and have been recovering at home since, actually at a friend's home. It started out being peritonitis, but ended up being a bacterial infection in my belly, due to a hernia pushing against the tube.
I am now on hemodialysis with a temporary cathether, and am going to be tested for a fistula next Monday. This is my first day back to work, and I am so tired, and so sore. My dialysis is M/W/F 7am-11am. Which means I go to work afterwards. The clinic, which is new, does not have evening hours, so that was out.
What is amazing is how much better I feel. PD was just not for me. As much as I wanted it to be, it just was not meant to be.
I'm glad to be back!!!

wondered about you

I know you are tired
so glad you are back

I am happy to hear from you! It sounds awful but I hope you will recover and feel better everyday. Sorry PD didn't work but thankfully there are other options. Take care! :cuddle;

MyssAnne, I've been wondering about you, and I'm so glad you're back, although I'm awfully sorry you've had to go through all of this! Glad to hear you're feeling better, and I hope things continue that way. You definitely deserve a break!! Take good care of yourself, and try not to push things too hard, okay? Again, I'm glad you're back; you have been missed! :cuddle; :grouphug;

MyssAnne, I kept thinking 'where is MyssAnne?' I am so glad to know that you are OK. Sorry we didn't know it
sooner so I could send up some prayers for you. But it is not too late yet, I will send up some for a fast and speedy
recovery. My thoughts are with you.
Love, Mimi

Welcome home and a speedy recovery :cuddle;

Thank you everyone!!! I go in for a vascular next Monday. I say that as if I know what it is....I have NO idea!!! I just know I gotta have it before they can put in a fistula, so they'll know it will work.
I'll be honest, I'm not really excited about being on hemodialysis, but I am excited about NOT having peritonitis again, or going through the tube replacements again and the recovery afterwards. For now, it's nice just being able to hop into a chair and have someone else do all the work, while you rest, read, or watch tv. The clinic I'm at, there are no loud patients, and the staff is wonderful!

Welcome back, hope it all works out for you. Can you do Home-Hemo?

Sounds like a plan to me. Oh yeah - that's how it is with me!!!
My caring thoughts and prayers are with you always. Hope everything works out to your best advantage. :cuddle;

Sounds like they're going to do the vein mapping (ultrasound) on your arm(s) to see where best to do the fistula. That doesn't hurt at all. Thinking about you.

Thank you Gail, and Bajanne!
Lola, at this time, I'm not sure I could be capable of it. I am so weak still, yet back to work full time which is really tiring. It's a very long schedule, due to the dialysis, so I am here at work til very late to get in the hours. Thank heavens it's an office job, so I can sit for the most part!
