I just got word from Donnia:
"We are in Lubbock. We just got back from seeing the urologist. He has cleared us for transplant. The only thing that could postpone the tx is that both of us had white blood cells in our urine. That could be normal for me because of my kidney failure. It could also be normal for Joyce because the time of the month it is (or was last week). He is running a culture to make sure we dont have infections.
Soooo.... that is all the info I have for now. We will be admitted to the hospital in the morning and I will update again.

Man that's exciting (not the white blood cells part) and I hope everything checks out so they get the go-ahead.

:yahoo; She's got her kidney!!!
I just got a call from Donnia's husband Juan. He just got word that the kidney is working immediately and that everything went great! He says that Donnia will be out of it probably for awhile due to the anesthesia, but as soon as he sees her he will give her our good wishes. Hopefully later he can give us an update!
I am crying. This takes me back to the day of Jenna's transplant and remembering the emotions. As Juan said, he doesn't know whether to jump for joy or sit down and cry!
Happy dance!! :bandance; :bandance; Yay Donnia! Keep on keeping on!! :bandance; :bandance;

Just got this email from Donnia's friend Pam:
Hello to Donnia’s friends and supporters!
I just spoke with Juan (11:50 a.m. Thursday)
Surgery went exceedingly well, and Donnia’s new kidney started producing urine IMMEDIATELY!!!
He expects to see Donnia in about an hour. Joyce’s surgery also went perfectly and she was out of surgery about 45 minutes before Donnia. Juan was jubilant. So, now we all need to praise God for this incredible gift for Donnia, and for both surgeries that couldn’t have gone any better.
