Post by: Yankee Bandit on May 30, 2008, 10:17:30 PM
Hey all! Still  Pre D. here! Feeling so much better thana month ago when diagnosed with malignant hypertension and had GFR of 12 high BUN.  Been taking bp meds and Diretics, appitite is good energy level good. No more nauses or vomiting.

My urine is still foamy as beer but steady.

Eating like i used to just less salt but still alot of chicken and other proteins.

Has the shingles and the itching but the are gone now..

Last month i was ready for PD or HD

Is this par for the course?

Should I expect things to get worse?

Appreciate any response.

Thanks.

The closer you get to start time, the less appetite you are likely to have.  You get a metallic taste in your mouth.  Everything tastes odd, so nothing sounds appetizing.  It's also common to feel more and more tired.  Hang in there; don't try to push yourself when you are exhausted.

As time goes on you may get confused because of toxins building up. Rest and don't over do things.

Yes, that is par for the course given your GFR.
And yes, things could always get worse. Hang in there and don't over exert yourself.

Your urine is foamy due to high protein.  You want in include protein in your diet, but you may want to limit it when you can.
