Do any of you have warts on your hands? I don't!!! But.... this....friend...of mine has warts on her hands and she was on Prednisone for many years and so her skin is bad anyway and HER hands have warts and she can't get rid of them!!!
I've, I mean, She has tried the freeze stuff at the Dermatologist's Office, the Compound W, the duct tape, etc.... Any ideas for my friend? She would really appreciate it. They are so ugly!

I had just one and it drove me nuts! I tried all of the self-help things, too and nothing worked. It finally just went away on it's own.

when my son, Bubba, was 11 -12 years old he got several on his hands and the pedi gave him a prescription to rub on at night and they never cam back

I've had some experience with the warts. I get a few on the side of my foot and when I see the dermatologist she deals with them. I was told that warts are viral and when we are immunosupressed the body has a hard time getting rid of them. (Kind of like yeast infections when you take an antibiotic) Liquid nitrogen is usual treatment but there may be something newer now. I see the dermatologist every year or so and she inspects me all over and we get rid of any skin ickies, basal cell crappies, warts etc. Wrinkles are mine to keep along with the cellulite.
My advice would be to try to control them as soon as she can. I know someone who had a transplant many many years ago and both her legs were covered in warts to the knees. Now that was at least 35 years ago so I know it was a dosage problem but it's easier to deal with the warts when they're small in both size and number.
I also have a friend who swears by milkthistle juice mixed with ashes but I personally think that's a bit whacked.

I, too, had a problem with warts on my hands. This was after having a 6 mth round of prednisone. I also have had immune system problems. The doctor thought the wart issue was related to my immune system not recognizing warts as a virus.
I relentlessly went to the dermatologist and had them burned off with liquid nitro (I guess that's what it was). After doing this about a dozen times,
all but one small one remains. I would recommend the same approach for your friend.

How interesting John has just had a wart come up just under his eye, too close to the eye to do anything about it, we just except it's now part of his life. But I supose we should get it looked at in case it gets bigger ???
