My right leg, which is where my dialysis access graft is, has been swelling this past week. Night before last it was really swollen. I slept with 5 pillows under it and that helped a little. So last night at dialysis, I showed the nurse and she put in a call to my dialysis nurse from Kaiser. I emailed my nephrologist. They both called me this morning. I am set up for an angiogram and possible angioplasty tomorrow morning because it sounds like a stenosis. I hope that fixes it.
Last night the pressure in the venous side was really high and it bled when the needle was pulled. Then it bled again on my way out the door so I had to stay awhile. Both the nurse and doctor said that could be from it stenosing. Tomorrow will tell the tale.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm home from the procedure. There was a stenosis so they did an angioplasty. The doctor told me I would feel "pressure" but I felt pain! I'm glad it's over and now the swelling should go down. :)

Glad you're home.

Hope everything goes well for you! :bestwishes;

Gramapat :cuddle; so glad the procedure is over with. Now, try to keep you leg up as much as possible and rest. I happy that the angioplasty clear up the narrowing or blockage and will pray that it doesn't return. Now, go rest. :cuddle;

Hi,
Happy to read that the agioplasty is over for you.
As Kathy said, try to get a lot of rest and keep your
leg elevated.
I hope you have no more problems with your access!

I had to have my third angioplasty on my leg on Friday. This time it didn't last quite 2 months. Last time they told me they couldn't put a stent in because the stenosis is right where my leg bends at the groin. So angios are just something I'll have to have until the graft gives out.
I told the doctor this time that he lied to me last time when he said I would feel "pressure" because I felt pain. So when he's doing the procedure he says - "Okay, you're going to feel pressure....ummm...pain." I had to laugh. ;D

Awww that's SOUNDS painful - sending you a hug! :cuddle;

OW!
Sorry for your pain and hope it resolves quickly.
