I ran into a woman today who I haven't seen or spoken to in 10+ years. We were never close, but we did local theater together. When I told her what I had been up to and that I was now on "the list" and testing my brothers she said "I'll test for you. Who do I call?" Just as serious and straight forward as you can be. I uncomfortably laughed. I was shocked. I told her how wonderful it was for her to offer this to me. I mean, people/friends I see and speak to on a regular basis have never even offered. I was stunned. Then, as we continued to talk she reminded me that she was a nurse. She used to be a dialysis nurse. Again, shocked at my luck to have ran into her. I don't have children and we were at a child's birthday party place (inflatable things...looked like a ton of fun!) We exchanged numbers and hope to do lunch soon. To be perfectly honest she wasn't anyone who I would have exchanged numbers with. As I said, we weren't close. If I had seen her first I probably wouldn't have even said hello. Not to be mean, but because WE WEREN'T CLOSE! I can't wait to have lunch and become close. Even if I don't get her kidney. SHE OFFERED! How wonderful is that? How wonderful is she? :cuddle;

You never know where your miracle worker will come from! The people that I thought would offer, didn't. The people who did offer were a surprise!
You're right, the fact that she offered, whether it comes through or not, is encouraging and gives you hope!

i try never to assume anything, it's not easy. ya just never know. may the best come from this.

"I'll be tested" The power that is in those three words! For some, it is just that simple. People are put in our lives when we least expect them, but there was a reason you met today. If nothing else, she will be a great source of support for you. Let us know when you meet for lunch!

The receptionist at my tax office where I had my Income Tax prepared,we where talking about the travel expense on my forms and I told her about my ESRD, she said I will gladly give you a kidnet, just out the blue. I told thanks but I have not be evaluated it but she could maybe help someone else already on the list.

It restores your faith human nature doesn't it. :) But these sort of stories never make the news, they only want to tell us about youngsters getting shot etc etc

That is awesome news! :grouphug;

She is WONDERFUL!!! I agree, you never know who is gonna step up and say they'll test. Just the offer is enough to make you weep
sometimes. I will say, because of ESRD, I have met some wonderful people, some who have come out of the woodwork where they
had been all this time.
