8yo in Need of 3rd Kidney Transplant
Last Edited: Tuesday, 25 Mar 2008, 10:32 PM CDT
8-year-old Isaac Ryherd has been hooked to a dialysis machine for two years, waiting for his 3rd kidney transplant.
Isaac’s first transplant was from his mother in January 2001, but there were some complications. He went into cardiac arrest and lost the kidney.
He received his 2nd kidney that August, but it was rejected in March of 2006.
Since then, he has been on a dialysis as he waits for a new kidney.
With each surgery, Isaac’s body develops new antibodies in his blood which increases complications.
Dr. Abhinay Humar says that transplant patients like Isaac only match blood types with about 1% of the general population.

Dr Humar is one of Otto's DR's. This little boy is in the same boat as Otto with antibodies thing. Poor kid

I feel for his parents. It would break my heart to have a kid on dialysis. :grouphug; to everyone that does.

It's hard enough having high antibodies as an adult...I can't imagine if it were my child going through it. :'(

Poor baby. I wish I could make it happen for him. He should be put #1 on the transplant list Nation Wide. Geez to have 2 fail would be hard to face a 3rd.
