Title: Read Posts and threads....
Post by: goofynina on July 05, 2006, 07:20:27 PM
Hey Mr. Epoman... i have a question , i was wondering if, you know how when there is a new post the kidney is outlined in red,  well, when i read the new post, does it stay outlined in red or does it turn all red, even though other people havent read it?   I was looking through some of the threads earlier and there were some posts that i never read before,  dont know how they got passed me, lol,   Can you please explain how that works....  thanks

Toss up? of THREE?  :o what other sections are called "Site Requests, Comments, Technical Help?" THANK GOD you got it right Nina you would have worried me. I would have had to make a NEW section called "Dialysis: Goofynina Post Here"  >:D

But anyway glad you asked. When you log in, the white/red kidneys will be unique for each member. They only change for YOU, regardless if someone else has read them. A white kidney means you have "UNREAD" or "NEW" messages in that particular section. If a section has a red kidney it means there are no NEW messages for you to read. HOWEVER if you have a WHITE kidney and you go to that section and you have several new posts you have not read, if you leave with out reading them all you will reset the kidney to RED. That is why you need to look out for the "NEW" tag at the end of thread titles. Watching out for the "New" tag will ensure you have read all of the threads.

Confused? or do you got it?

WHAT??? A section all my own, that would be awesome, i can paint the walls pink and hang my Prince posters and put in purple rug and, ohhhh,  your only teasing AGAIN huh?     ;)
(but it would make my life a whole heck of alot easier) lol

You sure have a way of making a lady feel dumb dont'cha,  just cuz a WOMAN whooped YOUR ass in dominoes you dont have to be so mean to her, tsk tsk tsk Epoman,  If i knew you were going to take it so hard, i would've at least let you win one our of how many again???  I lost track after 5,  LMFFAO.....

Anywaaaaays,  I appreciate your prompt attention towards my question.  Keep up the great work.....  You may not play bones very well but you sure got this computer stuff together....  Verrry impressive

OH, and one more thing i was wondering,  why does the  time display  always read 3 hours ahead, why is that?

Don't mean to butt in, but if you go to profile once you are signed in and then click on "look and layout settings" on the left hand side you can set it to your own timezone! Cool eh!  ;)

There is a "time offset" box. Where you have to add on or take away your extra or unwanted hours.

OH, and one more thing i was wondering,  why does the time display always read 3 hours ahead, why is that?

Just take the offset box to -3 and it should be right.  :D

The offset box will say -3 but the time in the user info box at the top left corner of every page and on the posts should have changed to your time! Mine works, it says +5 in the box but reads my local time everywhere else!  :)
