For Those of Us That Do The Water With Lemon Thing...
TUBES!!! I thought of you when I saw this!

I guess this is a good warning for dialysis and transplant patients!

My husband was telling me about this the other day. I always take the lemon out, anyway...guess I'll be sure to specify for them not to put it on at all! (Yet another need for that green, throwing up smiley!)
-
That is gross. I carry packets of True Lemon with me and it does taste like fresh lemon in water or tea, but before today I was only using it in places I couldn't get fresh lemon.
True Lemon has no sugar or sweeteners, its just crystallized lemon juice. :2thumbsup;

For those who have not tried True Lemon ,you can go to the web site and request free samples.They also have True Lime and Orange.

If you have potassium worries(I do) I recieved this from the people at True Lemo
Thanks so much for your email. Please know that there are 0.25 milligrams
of potassium per packet. This is generally considered to be an
insignificant amount, but you should always ask your physician if you have
any concerns.
This week I will be getting a box of the Orange to try. I sure do miss orange juice and oranges.

EWWWWWW! I do not like lemon in my drinks, but I have never really thought about this issue. What in the world are they doing with the lemons?
-
My wife bought one of the plastic lemons, with the juice in it. I take that and squirt it on ice cubes then suck on them. If nothing else, its good face exercise :rofl;
-
No more lemons for my drinks!
-
I use lemons in my water but ALL my fruit and veggies are washed very well by myself - I probably won't ask for lemon in the restaurants any longer though.
I usually cut the skin off the lemon before I use it and I would suggest that people using them at home do that.
Using the real lemon juice is also an option that was suggested.
thanks for the post.

Here's more info from snopes - it appears more study is needed http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/lemon.asp

OH MY GOSH!!! I have always asked for water with lemon. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will think twice before asking it again. I think the restaurant business should be repremand for this. :rant;
-
Their challenge to this report did not quell my fear or disgust any. No more study is needed for my immune suppressed self. Once again YUCK! :thumbdown; :thumbdown;
Thank you as always okarol I don't know how you find so many good and relevant stories. :thumbup;
-
Man! I always ask for lemons too! Even if my immune system is pretty good, I still don't want to tempt it - and that video made me only have lemons from now on at home! Thanks Karol!
-
Omigosh! I always ask for lemon with my water! Yuck, yuck, yuck! Won't be doing that anymore. I'll take my own Real Lemon.
Thanks to pdpatty for the link to TrueLemon. I ordered my free sample and if I like it, I'll be buying it specifically to keep in my purse for restaurants.

The another night, my family and I went to Olive Garden. I asked for water and the waitress gave me water with lemon in my glass. Not on the side or on the edge of my glass, but in my water. I was upset. I asked her to bring me another one. I can't believe they automatically assume I wanted lemon with my water.
