Title: Pumpkin pie?
Post by: KT0930 on November 19, 2007, 04:53:10 AM
I've seen several people mention that they'll miss pumpkin pie this year, and I just want to double-check something...is it high in phosphorous or potassium? I'm on PD and actually have to take potassium supplements, so if it's that, I'll have a slice for each of you  ;D but if it's phosphorous, I'll have to be sure to have a whole bottle of binders with me. Please help before Thursday? Thanks!

My book from AAKP nutrition counter states a 1/6 slice from an 8" piece will have 307 NA (sodium) 168 K (potassium) 77 Phos 4.3 Protien and 229 calories Hope that helps...Boxman

sure does. I'll take a couple of binders with the meal and dessert and enjoy. Thanks!

i think the problem with pumpkin pie is the sodium. but you know what, i'm going to eat some anyway right along with everything else on the dietitian's list of what not to eat at thanksgiving. i behave myself 97/98% percent of the time, my labs are great, one day a year i'm going to eat what i damn well please.

Amen, grammalady! I'm just ticked that I scheduled labs (including kt/v) for the Monday morning after Thanksgiving. I guess I just have to be extra good Friday-Sunday.
