HARRINGTON, Del. -- Exhausting dialysis treatments turned out to be beneficial in more than one way for one Delaware man.
Michael Ferracci, of Harrington, wound up marrying his dialysis specialist, and she donated one of her kidneys to him once the newlyweds found out they were compatible.
Ferracci had the transplant in March, ending three years of dialysis at the facility in Georgetown where Kristi, his future wife, was working.
He said they started talking during his treatments and it turned into a relationship.
They were married last September, and Kristi found out in February her kidney would be a perfect match for her new husband.
