Does anyone here have PKD?
Does anyone here live in Arizona?
Is there anyone here who is not on dialysis?
My mom comes to this site at times, but her computer is down currently. She is 5 months post transplant after 4 years of dialysis. She is wonderful!! She has gained about 40 pounds after dropping to 88 lbs after her double nephrectomy. Her creatinine goes up and down a bit, but only one rejection episode so far. She looks like a completely different person.
Also, for those of you who have had a cadavear donor..... how do you write a letter to the family? I can replay this many times in my head, but none of it sounds good. At some point, if they welcome the interaction I would like to write a letter too.

Hi Jenny,
I'm a transplant patient and like your mom I gained some weight in the months after my transplant. At the time I was addicted to Hershey's kisses and was popping those things like..candy.
My creatinine has been pretty stable, trending up over the years to 1.4 where it has been hanging for over a year. Unlike your mom I never had a rejection episode.
To answer your question we have a number of predialysis patients and a bunch of transplant patients on this site. In fact we've had a rash of successful transplants here this year.
I received a cadavaric transplant but never contacted the family. I've thought of it many times but just haven't done it.
Welcome to the site..you'll find lots of good information here.
