First off, I sure hope I am doing this the right way. If not I apologize.
I am from Erie, Pa. I have been on dialysis for 4 years now, I have done both PD and Hemo. I have to say personally I like hemo better. I hated being hooked up to a machine every night for 10 hours a night, I live with my boyfriend that has been through all of this with me since the beginning, we sure have had our rough times, he has been my rock with all of this. I have lived in 3 states since I started. I do have to say each and everyone of them do things differently, sure wish I could combine 2 of them and it sure would be an awesome center. :2thumbsup; I am a female, 41 years old, I have 2 children a son that is 23 and in the army, and a daughter that is 21. My daughter is my match, we match up almost perfectly so hopefully will be going to Allegheny General for a transplant this year. For the most part I have a good attitude about being on dialysis. I am a nurse, not working now. I got to sick and sometimes I really don't do well after a treatment. I sure wish I would of found this site years ago. Only just found it from a paper hanging on the wall at my center. Hope I didn't post to much my first time. Take care to all and hey smile you just might make another person's day. Lisa

Great to have you aboard. That transplant sounds great and I trust that everything will work out for a long time. I know someone at my clinic that had a transplant from a cadaver that lasted 22 years. :canadaflag;

Welcome foxxy Roxxy, :)
Welcome to ihatedialysis.com. I sure hope we will receive good news about a future transplant. We will keep our fingers crossed for you and your daughter.
Hang on to your boyfriend, it's hard to find someone to depend on when faced with such a horrible disease as ESRD. I have the utmost respect for him already.
I will be looking forward to your future post, by the way :secret; you could never post too much.

Hello again,
TY to all of you that welcomed me in. I was without internet for a while that is why I had not written back. Life got crazy since then anyway. My b/f that I thought was so wonderful just up and left me. Told me that he didn't love me anymore. I was really down about it. even swallowed pills, but thanks to my wonderful daughter and her b/f they brought me out of it. now I am here alone and really hate it, but everything will get better I know it. I tried to move to NY with my sister and 3 dialysis centers told me that they had no room for me. How can that be? Oh well. I have to sit down and really read Through all of this, I am still kind of confused on how everything works here. I never did this posting thing before. I just gave my daughter the sight since she is going to donate. *when they finally decide to get appt's going*
take care and good luck to everyone *hugs*

:welcomesign; Roxxy! You sound like an upbeat person and a survivor. I know it is going to be difficult for awhile after you split with your boyfriend because my husband did the same thing. Just take this time to take care of yourself and work on getting your transplant. You will be in my thoughts! :grouphug;
