Title: Using the search feature
Post by: okarol on June 22, 2007, 11:09:21 AM
Sometimes a little research can answer a question that has been asked in the past.
Here are some search tips - there may be more but this is what I thought might be helpful.

To perform a simple search, type one or more keywords in the Search box in the upper left-hand corner of the page and click SEARCH.

Use the following tips to make your search more effective.

Selecting Keywords
For optimal results, select keywords as follows:

    * Use specific keywords; avoid general terms. For example, "Renegel" produces better results than "meds."
    * Enter keyword phrases, as opposed to a single keyword. For example, "painful fistula" produces better results than "pain."

Using Exact Phrases
To focus your search on an exact phrase, place double quotation marks (" ") around the phrase. Performing a phrase search will generally limit the number of results per query significantly. For example, a search on "needle phobia" will only return posts with that exact phrase.

I have found the search feature will find a topic very quickly for me. This also helps not to duplicate threads already started on a topic.
