I have extreme fatigue because of dialysis. When I leave dialysis I am usually so weak I can barely walk to my car. The day after dialysis I am wiped out for half a day. Sorry, but I do not know what to tell on how the cure it. I have not found the answer myself. Hopefully others can help.

Hello Seaweed and coldhoist,
During my dialysis-years I was also battling with fatigue and was told by medics that it might be due to my underlying disease, which was, as I was told, also the reason for my kidney failure. Some days were better and some days were worse and I tried very hard to find an answer and the only "thing" that helped me a little was my strict vegetarian diet, which is very gently to the body, but I always had to have an eye on my Potassium-intake.
Best wishes from Kristina. :grouphug;

With me the Fatigue is less, when I take less fluid off.

Many thanks Cassandra. Your experience makes lots of sense, is very logical and seems a kind way to treat our body during dialysis-time. I shall keep that in mind, just in case, one never knows what's in the future ...
Hopefully you are doing as well as is possible during these turbulent Corona-Virus-times and I also hope that your body did well with the jabs? I only mention this because I have heard from some people who had a few difficulties etc.
Please take great care and I send you my kind regards from Kristina. :grouphug;

Taking less fluid off will help with fatigue, but may cause issues in other ways. I limited my fluid intake such that I had zero edema, and only had to remove 1200ml on each treatment, which was just a few ml's above 'minimum', but i also had IBS, and my gastroenterologist has me taking no fewer than 6 fiber capsules a day. Of course, fiber doesn't work unless you drink enough fluid, so now I drink more fluid, and take off between 2600ml and 3000ml each treatment.

What really helps with fatigue is taking protein supplements. Also, a renal vitamin supplement.
