Title: Man Dies from Eating Black Licorice Every Day for a 'Few Weeks'

Researching it, licorice has been mentioned on IHD as a potassium binder, but this was news to me.  Worth posting as Halloween approaches.  I'm interested in it as a possible pre-session BP booster as I'm having trouble with low BP. I'm currently using 8 oz strong coffee. I've contacted my neph about adding licorice to my bag-o-tricks.

Glycyrrhizin can cause potassium levels in the body to fall. When that happens, some people experience high blood pressure.

That's terrible news. People should really be cautious even in using organic products as any intake will surely have an impact on our body chemistry.

I have read about this before. Licorice has a negative effect on the body if consumed everyday especially when you are older. Moderation is everything.
