Title: Kidney Dialysis Techs should have prior Phlebotomist certification and training
Post by: plugger on January 25, 2020, 05:56:57 AM
I decided I should be a generous fellow and share some of the good karma I've been getting over the last 20 years with my kidney dialysis activities: helped head-up a group that got through a Colorado State bill for the certification of techs (https://www.dialysisethics2.org/index.php/colorado-tech-bill-2007-2012-2019) (not including needle sticks) back in 2007 - and renewed in 2012 and 2019.

How can I share?  By letting people sign this petition (http://change.org/kidney-dialysis-tech-training).  Your identity will be be kept confidential, just uncheck the box above the red "Sign this Petition" red image.

Actually the idea for this isn't mine, I just came up with the idea for the petition.   Arlene Mullin at Dialysis Advocates (https://dialysisadvocates.com/) (an advocate for over 20 years) has gotten sick of seeing torn accesses because of new techs - sick of it for a long time!  Here is a chance for you, family, and friends to get involved.  As you will notice in who is being targeted on the petition, I'm trying to make this a bi-partisan effort.

(I'm just trying not to be a karma hog here)

Thought it would be a good idea to offer people more assurances about privacy, so I contacted change.org about it and got this response:

"I comprehend your concern about your supporter's privacy, thank you for watching over the others. Privacy is always something important and something which Change.org and its customer service watch day by day.

Users can personally manage the "anonymous signature" option, remove the check on the option "Display my name, and comment on this petition." (See screenshot attached). This option makes your signature, name, and information does not appear on the platform, so you have practically signed anonymous, and your information will not appear on the petition information. Nobody, except the Petition Starter, can see the supporter's full name on the petition signatures document. Therefore their privacy is safe.

Change.org org does not sell our users’ information, and we value privacy. You can read about our privacy policy to get more information about how we keep our user's information secure, and when we may share it with partners: https://www.change.org/policies/privacy (https://www.change.org/policies/privacy)"
