4 hour sessions 3 days a week were killing my back on our antiquated chairs that are hard as a rock, the last hour of a 4 hour session was nothing short of agony so the doctor changed my session to 3 hours 4 days a week, i now feel a little better after the dialysis sessions. New chairs might be the real answer..

Hello Jim,
I am very sorry that these chairs are so hard to sit on. But for the time being : could it be a good idea to bring something to make your life a bit more comfortable during dialysis-treatments? Like an air-mattress which you could inflate just before treatments with enough air to sit more comfortably etc? Just anything to make the chair less hard?
Best wishes and good luck from Kristina. :grouphug;

Good idea, i'll see whats available. i find the main problem is not being able to adjust position once hooked up,over the course of the session i slowly slide forward and have no way to push myself back resulting in me sitting on an already sore tailbome..

Hello again, Jim,
I was just thinking that there is a material on the market to prevent carpets from sliding on the floor and perhaps a piece of such a material could be used to put on the chair to prevent you from slowly sliding forward? I mention this because most carpets are either cotton or silk and most of our clothes are cotton etc.. so perhaps that could help you not to slide forward?
Good luck and best wishes from Kristina. :grouphug;
