Title: Long Day!
Post by: smsnlv@gmail.com on June 13, 2019, 04:13:59 PM
Started at 0430 this morning, woke up before alarm at 0445 to go to the hospital.  Apparently because I had lost so much weight over the past 6 months there was not enough meat on the bones to hold my tunnel catheter on my chest properly in place, so surgery today because the "hub" had pulled out of through the skin and my techs and nurses at the dialysis center were afraid of further complications.  Back at the house a little after noon and glad to be done with it and hope this one holds up until the fistula is ready to use.

I hope it wasn’t too painful, and that you’ll find something to eat you enjoy, so you can put some weight on. If you’re not lactose or milk intolerant you could try snacking on digestives (or any other biscuit) with cream cheese. It would add some protein to your diet without too much phos.
And Doritos (made from chickpeas as I recently learned from Marilee that they are high in protein and low in phos too)

Good luck!!!

You mean Doritos are healthy darn it all I love em but have been avoiding them.  Oh well maybe it’s for the best since if I think something is ok I go overboard.  There was the infamous Eggo waffle incident when I did not realize the salt content and went over board on waffles and ended up going to dialysis 6 days in a row afterwards.
