It is funny, we have possibly the least competent government in living memory in power over here at the moment. Normally they couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery. Then they go and surprise us all by bringing out a really good law like this one.

I've actually developed a bit more respect for the English government over Brexit.   Their leaders seem to understand that even if they don't like the outcome, it isn't right to play the game of "We'll have a revote if the populace does not vote correctly" and is honoring the vote.  Compare that to my state of MA where the legislature overwhelmingly voted to ignore a citizen vote to rollback a "temporary" income tax increase and replace it with "staged reduction if we can afford it after giving your money away to the welfare people."  The MA vote was binding, and it took new legislation to override it - it was not just a matter of ignoring a suggestive vote.

The problem with Brexit is that no one knows what the outcome really will be.  The British government is in total meltdown; there is no "respect" warranted.  MPs have been voting only on what they are against and not what they are for.  There IS no "government" over Brexit.  No one knows what "honoring the vote" even means, anymore.

This is how threads go off topic!  LOL!

Yeah, but they aren't. Those politicians who did not want Brexit are voting against most Brexit plans, which is understandable. What is less understandable is that the politicians who want Brexit are voting against most Brexit plans too. The theory is that if they do we will end up "crashing out" without a deal. This is NOT what was voted for, we were promised some kind of deal which would allow us to trade easily with Europe. The "no deal" option would scupper this, and give us what we DID NOT vote for. Also it is more likely that this continual "vote against everything" will mean we will have to have a second referendum, and it is most likely (not certain, obviously, but all opinion poles point this way) that a second referendum will lead to Brexit being cancelled, and Britain remaining in the EU.

In other words, the current activities of the politicians will most likely result in us not getting what we want.

Does not worry me too much though, because Brexit was a bad idea, brought about mostly by racism and stupidity.
