Hi all, has anyone on D ever used or has any info on the use of oregano oil caps?
Thanx already, Cas

I know it's antiseptic, but never heard of any kidney use.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Oregano Oil caps but I imagine most oil would be good for the body. Fish oil for instance is good for the system. When my husband was pre-D his neph use to have him take fish oil caps. I think the only reason he stopped was because the caps (of the really potent stuff) were expensive and gave him fish breath.
I use to read about stuff like this from Dr. Andrew Weil. Perhaps he would have something about Oregano Oil.

Thanx for your tips friends. The hospital has not come back to me after asking last Monday if I'm okay taking them. So I take 1 caps every other day. It is supposed to help with GI probs. After taking Omeprazole since my stomache bleed, I am now lactose intolerant (which is causing the chronic diarhea probs). And after losing 7 kilos I decided to do some research. My bloods are also completely messed up (too low calcium, too low phosphates etc) and taking Imodium just to get through a D session was getting annoying.
Than I read somewhere that it's poss to become temporarily lactose intolerant after an infection or long term Omeprazole use, and I'm half African (more likely to be lactose intolerant) so could be poss. I avoided all lactose for 2 weeks, I was fine. Tried 1 spoon of yoghurt with my muesli, and spend the next hour on the toilet. So I've stopped Omeprazole, take these oregano caps, and hope to get back to 'normal' as I actually didn't realise how much I love my yoghurt, my cheese, my cream and ice-cream etc ;D I know it's not the biggest problem in the world, but...
Love y'all, Cas

Related to a hopefully temporary Lactose intolerance, I have to wonder if I have become somewhat gluten intolerant since my bout with anti-biotic induced C-Diif and the resulting use of a couple more very strong AB's.
It seems wheat products are putting me back on the toilet within a few hours. Nearly all watery mess.
I've taken bottles of a few different probiotics, no real improvement.
Beginning to think I need to eat a banana for whatever cultures are in them. I don't doubt there are any number of fresh fruits and veggies that also contain the good 'bugs' we all need to establish the good abdominal micro-flora necessary for health.
Learning which may be a trick. I haven't a clue where to begin.

Hi Charlie I found this article
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4285934/
So you can become gluten intolerant too, after a GI infection. I'll read further about it, and take the liberty here to assume that gluten intolerance can be temporary too.

When my husband had the Astro virus and digestive "problems" the doctor at the hospital sent him home and had him load up on Lactose-Free Activia yogurt. His fave is the blueberry.
