In my IHD thread "Arlene at Dialysis Advocates still not stopping after 20 years": http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=34854.0 (http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=34854.0). I may have been duped by a fake news site when a posted a link to an article that gave me concern. I must be getting rusty, I usually check my sources.

Hello Plugger,
Many thanks for the rectification of these fake-news. Please be assured that it is not your fault and you are certainly not "getting rusty". Unfortunately, these days there are so many fake-news "thrown about" that it becomes sometimes extremely difficult to "see" it.
I always read your input with interest and at the same time I feel assured, that you always try your very best at all times and it is very much appreciated.
Best wishes from Kristina. :grouphug;

LOL
I like to think that I can spot 'Fake-News' in a Heartbeat.
Not so any longer.
There is so much now that I have to wonder at the ingenuity of the writers. Some seem just so "Believeable"!
Irratating, but then again I have to give them a certain amouont of respect for their ability. All I know is I couldn't come up with ideas like that.

Yeah, they can be smart - but as I like to say they are just smart enough to justify something idiotic! At least this has had the effect of getting my guard up - for now - hope it lasts. And as I also like to say, I wonder why we seem to have people who write that crap? My guess it might be the same reason we have rats, cockroaches and other sorts of vermin.
And thank you again Kristina, your kind words are always appreciated! :thx; I like to think I'm at least stumbling in the right direction. You two are Great!

And just to mention how I concluded the article was bogus, I first googled "thehayride.com fake news". There was more than one source claiming hayride put out fake articles, but the one that caught my eye was snopes.com. I recall snopes has a good rep and partners with facebook to fact check.
But to now further check out snopes I googled "snopes.com fake news". Factcheck.org found snopes work to be “solid and well-documented,” and that its articles appeared “utterly poker-faced” when tackling rumors about Democratic and Republican politicians.
As for factcheck.org I've used them off and on over the years and my experience is they tell it straight. Even Dick Cheney would quote them back in the day - when it favored him of course!
