Title: Blood in dialysis catheter
Post by: AaishaDar on November 04, 2017, 05:20:44 PM
Hi everyone,
Quick question. I have a catheter in my right shoulder below my collarbone. Today after a few hours I noticed blood in the the line. I had this catheter for about 9 months I believe and never noticed it before. I feel fine besides nausea. Does anyone know what it could mean?

Is the clamp still in the closed position?

Call your clinic and talk to one of the RNs.  They get paid to answer questions like this.

I expect it is normal (the flush isn't locked in place), but it's worth an ask.
