Title: Twitching
Post by: AaishaDar on August 08, 2017, 09:47:15 PM
Hi all,
I wanted to ask if anyone has been experiencing twitching. Now i know most of you will ask about mu calcium, dont worry it has been in a normal range for several months now so I have ruled it out. I will experience twitching in my shoulder, eye, and legs. It may not seem like a problem but it does get bothersome when it keeps happening repeatedly.

Are you sure you are getting adequate dialysis?  Maybe you are uremic.

Hi AaishaDar when I have twitching repeatedly it usually means I'm getting too dry.

I am not sure of your problem, but I can only speak from the stand point of being a long term dialysis personally and of what I have seen.

I have seen serious case of fidgeting when the patient could not even sit!  I mean he would kick his hands, legs, jerking heads... It was quite traumatizing to see him

suffer so much.  Not all, in general there is Peripheral neuropathy problem that surface with kidney patient some more than others whose knows why.  Some can be

control with Clonazepam, again every patient needs trial and error on different type of medications until ones find the right type and dosage.

It is so important to have a Nephrologist doctor who is willing to listen and work with each patient accordingly.

I know that when I get too dry, it affects everything. I have no appetite, do not go to the bathroom as often, and definitely feel more tired regardless of how much sleep I get. I also sometimes notice the muscles, particularly my calf muscles, seem to twitch or jitter about kind of like they are about to cramp then relax.
