I am on PD and having a slight pain at the start of first fill and the last full drain at the end. I have been doing PD for almost a year and a half. I have had drain pain here and there but usually a couple of months apart. This time it is every time I hook up. It has been going on for about two weeks. The pain is not bad but it is something new. It is always in the same place. I was wondering if the catheter had attached itself to the peritoneum causing the pain or is it something else?

Always check it out with your PD nurses or doctors.

Thanks the day I asked this it stopped bothering me. Funny how that works. After my open heart surgery my legs were not working like they used to, so I ordered a walker. The day it came in my legs started to work like normal again.

Your Neph needs to be informed of this persistent pain that remains in the same place. Dr may order an X-ray or CAT Scan to see if any lesions or growth has formed that can become sensitive to the added pressure of filling or draining.
Hopefully this is only a temporary issue, but one never knows. The human body is a wondrous thing, but sometimes it rebels against foreign things, such as the PD Cath being inside for long periods.
When in doubt, get it checked out.
