hello , people !
I am writing for my brother , he is on dialysis for a while , about 2 years . He is really desperate for traveling and/or vacation but we doesn’t have a lot of funds for it . Some companies provide dialysis cruises but they over two thousand dollars plus the price of the cruise . I found a local travel agency that organizes Dialysis Group tours . they employ dialysis technician and nurse . also bringing they own dialysis mobile machines .
have you guys heard anything like that ?
does anyone went to Mexico or Dominican Republic from continental US with a group ?
can they be trusted ?
Maybe you can recommend other companies or organizations that can help to organize the trip .
I know Davita helping , but they just providing support , but not the actual dialysis .
Thanks a lot , any input would be appreciated .

I've never heard of that before, but it sounds pretty cool..

You seem concerned about the co$t .... how are things going to work with this tour group if you can't afford the dialysis premium on a D cruise?
-
Cruise with dialysis total cost will be at least 3500 , dialysis at sea cost - $2,500 plus $1,000-$1,300 for a cruise .
the group all -inclusive to Mexico tour 7 days is 1,200 plus 700-1,000$ depending on how many HD , it comes to %50 less than a cruise .

When I travel internationally I usually pay about $125-$300 dollars per session. So three sessions could be had for about $900. Except for say Montreal were it was $700-$800 per session.
With a group of dialysis patients I would worry that you would spend a lot of time waiting for the hardest or longest to treat patients. I've done various group tours (India, turkey, Greece) and you spend quite some time waiting for others. Just imagine add overloading a clinic with more patients than they normally have, and expect to spend ever more time waiting. But if you had special needs like say wheel chair access it would be a huge help to have onsite help.

I don't know what that could be other than NxStage. In 2012 I was part of a group that took a cruise for a week through the western Caribbean, there were nine of us that used NxStage during the trip but these were our own machines that we use at home and brought with us. I would worry that what Maxchess is describing is incenter dialyzors using using NxStage as if it is the same as an incenter treatment, it doesn't work that way.
When I dialyzed incenter in Cancun in 2005 it was $330/treatment
