Title: medical marijuana and transplants
Post by: nightwalker on December 08, 2016, 06:56:05 PM
I live in California, a state where medical MJJ is legal with a doctors note, and in January 2017 it will be legal recreationally like many other states in the USA.
Has anyone here been denied or approved a transplant with traces of THC running through the bloodstream? I know there has been a legal battle around this,  and that a mmj patient actually died waiting for a transplant some years ago...I believe congress was working on a bill to not allow that to happen again. i'm thinking any decision to deny someone because they are a "drug user"  seems pretty heartless.

Depends on the drug ... is there evidence that use of the heathen devil weed shortens the life of transplants?  That is the only logical rationale for the denial.
