Title: My creatinine increased... what's the cause?
Post by: Fabkiwi06 on November 28, 2016, 06:52:15 PM
So, in this last round of labs and kinetics my creatinine has gone up slightly. I'm not sure what the numbers are because my nurse called me with this info over the phone and didn't actually tell me any of the numbers.

I'm on a nightly PD cycle. I don't skip treatments or shorten them at all. Nurse all but accused me of doing so even though I have brought in the records showing otherwise every month. What could be causing the rise?

All other levels were "acceptable" I guess... She didn't give me any actual numbers. I go in next week and will get the print out so then I can see for myself. Just trying to see if this is a common thing for now.

Edit to add: I'm inclined to think that it's not that the treatment is not working anymore... Every other level has been spot on where it needs to be or better. I'm also scheduled for transplant surgery in January, so it could just be wishful thinking on my part - I'd like to avoid having to switch back to hemo before that.

I'm on PD too and my creatiinine is quite high.  My neph mentions it and then in the same breath says that it doesn't mean anything at this point.

Just wait to see your numbers, if the important ones are okay, it's a blip, or you drank less or something
Why don't they put your results on line? I always thought the UK (or let me correct that in Liverpool) being behind.

I truly 'am annoyed' with this attitude of "I don't know, but let's blame the patient anyway" of professionals

Love, luck and strength, Cas
