That's funny. I don't mind in center dialysis like I used to. I used to really loathe going in center. Now I don't mind as I find it a perfect excuse for coffee at the coffee kiosk before I go in "back" to get the dialysis. Once I am in dialysis, I just fall asleep and sleep it off. Not bad. For a change, it is coffee and a sleep at the hospital center.

Is it 'special' coffee? Maybe it's that the staff at your clinic give you the confidence to just fall a sleep. Nice to hear!
Or it IS special coffee

Mmmmmmm Coffee. I used to grind my beans myself. I really miss it. Used to drink it all day long. Now If I have more than one cup in the morning my heart will be skipping beats not just throughout the day but well past evening. That's a screwy feeling, kinda makes you wonder if it's going to start again. Not good.

My husband doesn't mind going to the center either. He says it is less stressful than doing home hemo because it is less stress and work on me. I was his care partner and he felt guilty because I have Fibromyalgia and it was getting hard for me. Some people do hemo at home alone or while they sleep at nite and that's great but, my husband is unable to do that. So he gets up early and goes to the center, sleeps thru most of his treatment, has breakfast afterwards and then goes to work. I must admit, since he started back at the center it has been less stressful on us and we actually seem to have more time to do things we want to do because we don't have dialysis on our minds 24/7 anymore. Good luck with making your own decision. Whatever you decide, it should be your decision to make and one that best suits your needs and lifestyle.

Primetimer, I'm glad to hear that you two are having success with the change in routine. It's easy to forget how much work it can be to get everything set up safely for home dialysis.
When I was doing hemo in the center, spending time in the center never bothered me too much. I got a lot of reading done in that month... it was nice to have.
