How long do you have to work out to sweat out some of the fluid ?
I'm not really exercising just to sweat fluid but to lose weight to get back on the list. So I thought it may be an extra benefit as I sweat while exercising.

I would think any exercise will help loose some fluid. Some people sweat a lot, some don't. But losing weight still comes down to what, and how much you eat or drink.

I can sweat just standing still.  But that does little to lose weight.  My first month on PD i found the constant 'fill' of the PD fluid put enough pressure on my stomach that I couldn't eat near the quantity of food that I used to.   Which is a good thing.  Most of us tend to fill our plate and over-eat, causing our excess weight.  So learning to eat slower, and eating less really began to pay off.  I started losing some of the extra weight I have carried for most of my life.

Cutting out as much breads as possible, switching to that 35 cal p[er slice bread for when I do eat bread, I dropped 100 pounds in two years.

Sadly, I started taking prednisone.  In the last year I've gain almost 40 pounds back on.   I quit the prednisone a couple of weeks ago so I am now trying to get back to eating smaller again.  Hopefully that will trigger a small loss.   Give it another year and we'll see how well I do.

So those two things, what how much, and start cutting some of the carbs, between the two I think you will begin to see a difference.  But it won't be a big change in a short time.  It will take a while, and it will be permanent as long as you stay at it.

Exercise is a bonus, but I can't, or don't, my joints won't take it.

I've always been told that your best gauge for seeing if you're exercise is working you enough is if you can get yourself properly sweaty. When you're at that point, your heart rate is high and your body is recognizing that you're actually expending energy - not just hot.

As far as helping with fluid, I think the amount lost via sweat wouldn't be a huge amount unless you're spending hours upon hours sweating.

Now I have another question still speaking on  fluid intake and output.
My neph took me off my dieretic. If we are watching our fluid and can still urinate why can't we take a fluid pill

My husband's Neph took him off diuretics when he started dialysis. I think it has something to do with potassium levels. The dietician could probably answer your question if you can't get ahold of your nurse or Neph. Or maybe even a Pharmacist. And remember, the more you sweat the more thirstier you might end up feeling..

I was on the diuretic because of fluid build up in my system when I first started PD. I started feeling lethargic and achy all the time after a while and I was watching my diet and fluid intake but didn't take into account sweating and urinating still.  I ended up dehydrated and have kept the fluid off since I was taken off the diuretic.  I think the neph starts you on it to help remove excess fluid and then when you are no longer holding onto any more extra they stop you taking it.
