does it ever go away?

It's probably your phosphates being high, you could ask for phosphate binders, and reduce your intake of phosphate rich foods (like cheese, nuts, meat milk :angel; )

Yes... what Cass said.

How is your PTH? My husband got itchy when his PTH was out of whack because it caused everything else (calcium, phosphorus) to go out of whack too.

I notice I itch if they are not rinsing the dialyzer really well.

Are you talking about a "pre treatment" rinse when they prime the machine or rinsing the dialyzer in-between uses..?? I don't understand.

Itching gets worse in the colder months. You could try one of those eczema itch cremes that go for about $10 at the drugstores.

The pre treatment rinses to get the chemicals out of it.
I do not use reuse. Allergic to renalyn.

The first 6 months I was on dialysis I was in toment from the itching on my fistula arm. It was constant, they kept looking at my blood work and making diet changes. I had a scheduled Dermatoligist visit and he looked at my arm and said two words contact dermatitis. It turned out I was allergic to something being used on my arm. They stopped using bedadyne and I bought my own tape and it got better very quickly.

I am allergic to the tape and it itches every time. They tried every type of tape they had including the non allergic type and it still itches. I clean my arm with alcohol after removing the tape and it goes away.
Sometimes I get a rash and have to put a cream on it. I cannot remember the name of the cream.

I have to use the non-allergenic tape on my arm. By after a night of sweating that tape wears to me like iron. I have tape "crap" on my arm constantly.
I literally have to take Purell to my arm and wipe it down to get the tape residue off of me.
