I try to be proactive about my dialysis, and I always tell the technicians exactly what my UF setting will be. The problem with this seems to be that no 2 techs start or end the session the same way, resulting in a saline gain of as little as .1kg to as much as .5kg. One tech flushes the lines until they are almost running clear, and the next one only goes so far as seeing the venous chamber becoming orange-ish.

The solution is to tell the tech when to stop flushing.

It's your body, take control. Start by giving them the finger.
