Just to get an idea of how much our different experiences in dialysis may be, it might be helpful if we share just WHAT the machine is doing to each of us on a regular basis. So, in order to shed some light on the differences we each have, I will share for you my current settings:
Time on machine: 3:45 (11 1/4 hrs/week)
Frequency of treatment: 3x/Week (M_W_F)
UF setting: 1500ml (-300ml in 3 regular spaced flushes during each treatment, plus about 200ml flushed at end)
Effective removal/session: about 1000 ml or 1 kg
Dry weight: about 77kg
Flow rate: 450
Heparin usage: None
Fistula location: Upper left arm
Needle size: 15 ga sharps
