Title: Hiyas Everyone
Post by: Xanerith on January 24, 2015, 05:49:29 AM
Hiya!,

There really isn't much to say about me, I've been on dialysis for a year now because I have a disease called iga nephropathy and because of that my kidneys started to fail, eventually I had to go on dialysis and here I am. Honestly even though I've been on it for a year now it's still hard to believe I have to do this.  I had to get a fistula in my right arm, which now my arm looks insanely ugly and I try to hide it as much as possible, I feel so broken now it's extremely depressing.

Welcome to the site Xanerith. I completely understand your feelings, and I think a lot of D patients go through that. But try to see the positive sides ( difficult I know) like being a life and stuff. Make it worth doing (?)

Hi X.  I've been on it for 30 years and there are still days when I think it is "crazy" that I have to do this.... no week off EVER.  But, you also come to realize after a family wedding or another Christmas or sometimes even after another SEAHAWK WIN.  That it is because of Dialysis that I get to live to see another Super Bowl.  It becomes the little things.

How does a transplant look for you or would IGS prevent that from happening?

I'm so glad you joined.  We understand!  Your friends and family will not.  They don't have to sit there for 3+ hours three times a week sometimes more.

Hang in brother!

Hey,

I'm more of a 'Hey, You' kinda guy as I often forget peoples names,  and I feel pretty stupid if I use a name, and it's wrong.

Glad you came to IHD, you are going  o find a lot of great people here that have been exactly where you are now, so don't be afraid to ask anything cause they have heard, seen, and done it all long ago and are here to tell you everything, and suggest whys to cope and otherwise just to help you feel like part of this family.

We all care.
